Designer of the Week: Tacori

Gilda Bailian and Haig Tacorian, the co-founders of TACORI, originate from Romania. Gilda is the daughter of Harry Bailian, a jeweler compelled by the Communist regime to surrender all precious metals. When he’s found making gold wedding rings for a family friend, Harry is arrested and imprisoned for a year. Gilda and Haig meet in 1972 in California. They join her father to create B&T, a jewelry company specializing in vintage designs. In 1979, Gilda and Haig, now married, start their own company in Downtown LA: TACORI is born. The TACORI family seal is a reminder of our heritage. Look closely at the center to discover a "B" and a "T," representing Balian and Tacorian, the families where our legacy began. The seal is our official mark of authenticity, a promise of our commitment to quality craftsmanship and design. TACORI becomes a standard of originality and luxury craftsmanship. With the signature TACORI Crescent, Dantela, and Simply TACORI Bridal Collections, TACORI is seen on influential figures like Oprah and ABC’s The Bachelor. Popularity skyrockets. TACORI is unique in its category - a sophisticated, luxury brand that maintains the soul of a passionate, personal, and independent-spirited family business.

Stirring anticipation and delivering more than meets the eye, TACORI invites you to revel in all the beautiful details. We love what we do, and it shows. We add dimensional details where others might not, in the little spaces where only you might see them. It's this extra effort that sets us apart.
